Message from the Chairman

I am delighted to introduce the Travel Industry Careers Association.

Our part of the Travel and Tourism industry i.e. the travel sector, is a vibrant, interesting and important part of a larger industry, both in terms of valuable and long term employment / career opportunities and an excellent place to learn and develop skills.

Our Association is a national body representing the interests of the travel industry.

Our goal is to provide an information resource to people interested in joining the travel industry. As a focal point we will provide a variety of useful information and assist people in identifying the many diverse opportunities that exist in our industry.

It is our vision over the next few years to encourage many people to join and remain in the travel industry. As an indicator, we estimate that around 320,000 people are needed in travel and tourism roles in the next 10 years.

In an industry with a significant number of employers and many varied roles available, we continue to seek highly motivated and energetic people to join our industry and continue to build on the legacy of good career prospects, and in doing so, developing effective skills themselves and helping their companies to achieve. 

Making a difference

Our board and working committee consists of a team of people who are passionate about our industry and volunteer their support and knowledge for the benefit of all members of the industry. Our many industry Platinum Members provide our Association with the financial support, as they too believe that our industry is the best place to be. By using the resources, available technology and the collective skills and energies of those involved in supporting our efforts, we aim to add value to future job seekers, employers and other industry partners.

Our industry is all about people and for anyone who likes to work with people, and who have a good customer service ethic and a determination to succeed, the travel industry can provide outstanding career opportunities.

We welcome new members and those seeking a career in travel. Whether you are someone starting out on your career for the first time or if you are looking to change to a new career path, the travel industry should be one of the first places you should look for opportunities.
